We’re happy to announce that our team completed GE Smallworld implementation at Polenergia Dystrybucja (one of the leading energy distribution system operators in Poland). Smallworld deployment was done in less than 7 months.

Scope of the project

The project covered Smallworld EL.GIS & Smallworld Network Viewer deployment as well as the construction of the topological network and EL.GIS customizations. The works also included data capture, digitization and migration from 31 energy divisions, including 40,000 objects and more than 0.5 million attributes.

Delivered solution comes with full technical support.

Why Polenergia decided to implement Smallworld EL.GIS

Polenergia wanted to build a unified network database and spatial model to improve key business processes. The main goal of the project was to provide customer’s employees with easy access to up-to-date network data – before the implementation information about the network (dispersed across Poland) was stored in different digital and paper forms.

The solution had to support Polenergia also in:

management of grid investments (including both existing and future assets)

comprehensive support of connection related processes

power grid inventory

preparing reports for the Energy Regulatory Office
