Forecasting renewable energy production

By December 10, 2020November 4th, 2021R & D

Recently Globema has participated in SIwE’20 – Polish conference about IT systems in the power sector, organized by Polish Power Transmission and Distribution Association (PTPiREE). One of our presentations was about forecasting energy production from renewables and Globema’s research and development projects in this area.

Krzysztof Kołodziejczyk, head of utility sales at Globema, presented area-based approach to forecasting of the energy production from renewables (including wind and solar sources), with strong emphasis on prosumers. Krzysztof discussed research that shows the benefits of using area weather forecasts developed in cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw.

Outcomes of our R&D project are included in Globema’s product 4RES that provides forecasts of renewable energy production using aggregated predictive models, both for large installations and prosumers. Krzysztof also analyzed the problem of balancing loads for areas with a significant share of distributed generation.

Let’s innovate together!
